No More Babies
Well, I just thought I would write about my internal dilemma that I have been experiencing lately. I was a week late on my period and it opened up a lot of dumb emotions in me. First I was quite nervous because in dealing with a toddler, I am tired of the baby years. At the same time I was excited about a baby!!! I started my period and was relieved but a little sad at the same time. As a result of the scare my husband is scheduled for his vasectomy on July 30. He finally felt it was time to make the decision permanent. Then yesterday I watched Juno. After it was over I cried for like 10 minutes over the fact I would never hold my own brand new baby in my arms again. The scene where Jennifer Garner is holding the baby and just looking at him set me off. I am so sad but in some way so relieved to think that I will eventually have some time for myself. Oh, how will it be to run to the store and not having a screaming child with me or to be able to take a nap and not worry about when I want to get up. So I have decided all you baby birthing women out there need to move close so that when I need a quick fix I can just kidnap your babies for a moment and then I can give them back. Maybe it is time to move into Labor and Delivery nursing. Who knows!!!! We still have a few months till July!!!

CAAAELYNNNNN!!!!
Well, as many of you know the toddler years are challenging. Miss Caelyn has figured out how to open our handle doors. Therefore, I changed to handles to my bedroom, the bathrooms etc.. to knobs so we could keep her out of the toilet, tub, lotions etc... Much to my dismay my bedroom door was left open and she had access to our bathroom and the vaseline. So, while I was occupied cooking dinner for a good thirty minutes I assumed she was upstairs playing with Zeke. When I went to check on her I found her covered in vaseline. The hair, her clothes, the cabinets, the floors, you name it, it was covered. She used 2/3 of an entire big bottle of vaseline on her hair and clothes. After taking a deep breath and realizing a key opportunity to join my cousin Jessica's club of taking pictures of the mischevious actions of our children, I went and got the camera to document her naughtiness for years to come. Now, after throwing her in the bathtub I realized that the vaseline does not come off, it just smears. We tried every shampoo I had, dish soap you name it. We even poured baby powder all over head to see if it would absorb the oil. Minimal results were noticed. So for the past two days my child looks like a member of the T-Birds and has her hair slicked back (hence the picture, no her hair is not wet). This morning I turned to the internet for a remedy and I have been somewhat alarmed by what I have read. According to the articles, vaseline never comes out because it binds to the cuticle. I found a recipe for baking soda and baby shampoo so we just tried that and will see how it looks when her hair is dry, if that happens!!! So, to make a long story short. Hide your vaseline!!!!!

Happy Birthday Zeke!!

Well, Today is my little boy's 6th birthday. I can't believe he is getting so big. He is such a sweet boy. He told me yesterday as he was hugging me that he could hug me forevuuurrr (for those of you who know how he can't say his r's), because that is how much he loves me. What a sweetie!! When he is driving me crazy I have to just look at his big brown eyes and I can't be mad anymore. Here are a few pictures of him as he has gotten older every year. I swear the joke around my family is that I look the same as I did as a kid, just taller. I think that is going to be the same for my kids. His labor was probably my easiest. My friends from work had given me a baby shower and I was laughing so hard that I started to have contractions. Mind you it was 10 days till my due date. I continued to have them the rest of the party and on into the night. I think we ended up going in around 4am. I got to have an epidural which was great. He was born without incident around 7am. Happy Birthday Zeke, We love you!!

Snow Skiing
Okay everyone, I know our family is full of active people and I bet you are all shocked to know that yes, I have never been snow skiing. We have a friend couple that have been begging Teddy and I to go skiing for years and we have never done it. Well, finally we joined them at Sierra Summit a couple of weeks ago and had a blast. Here are a few pictures of the amateurs in action. It was really fun but really scary!!! I didn't realize that I am so afraid of heights!! I got on the ski lift and thought I was going to die!! Teddy was laughing at me because I was doing lamaze breathing the whole time with my eyes tightly shut and my grips so tight on the bar I had white knuckles. We thought the kids would love skiing and saw little kids, four and five, just whizzing around on their snowboards and skiis. However, I don't think I would ever let them on the ski lift. It goes so high!!!!! I know, what a dork. When we finally go to the top of the mountain all I could think about was how to get down. I crashed a few times but managed to make it down and spent the rest of the day on the bunny hill. Maybe next time I will brave the lift better.
