Okay, it is the end of the quarter and the awards come out. Of course, if I don't put up a picture the kids get so mad. Payton and Sadie were on the Honor Roll and Zeke got some kind of math award. They are always so proud to stand up and get their lovely certificate!! Good job guys!

Awards
Okay, it is the end of the quarter and the awards come out. Of course, if I don't put up a picture the kids get so mad. Payton and Sadie were on the Honor Roll and Zeke got some kind of math award. They are always so proud to stand up and get their lovely certificate!! Good job guys!
Oral Language Festival
Well, yesterday Payton's verse choir competed in the county Oral Language Festival. They had 14 teams from all the districts in Bakersfield. Their group got first place. Every student from Thorner got first in their division except two who ended up getting second. It was a first for the school. Their coaches were so excited. They are really nice women who have given up so much time coaching the kids after hours. Good job everyone!!!

Man's Best Friend, Seriously???
Well, just had to blog about this experience of having a dog. Now I know why it is called man's best friend because it isn't woman's best friend. Guess who gets to clean up the pee that loves to trickle down the grout of my tile, guess who gets to wash the dingle berries left in his fur after EVERY poop he takes, guess who get attacked by the niping frenzy whenever I try to make a meal in the kitchen, guess who gets to clean the carpet when one of the kids thinks it is fun to let him out to run around the house. Yep, that's right, ME!!!! I lost it the other morning after coming down first thing and taking him out to go to the bathroom. As I walked around in the freaking cold yelling, "GO PEE!" over and over he nipped at me and played with the pine cones. After about 20 min, and a constant nagging by the kids for me to get their breakfast, do their hair, etc.... I said fine, screw it. Apparently he didn't need to go. Perhaps what little puddle on the pad was all he had. Oh, No. I put him back in the kitchen and went to do Sadie's hair and upon return I found not only a nice big puddle of urine in front of my fridge but a large poop to boot!! UGH!!!! Seriously? just another thing for the WOMAN to do. If it weren't for his sad little eyes when I yell at him I think I would have drop kicked him across the yard. Mind you, I know all you dog lovers out there are probably appalled but I am not a pet person and this is a huge undertaking. All mom's know that your day is spent doing chores, grocery shopping, cleaning, running errands, going to kids activities and then work on top of that and now I have to clean up poop!!! Oh, and then, the smell!! I saw on the animal planet where one lady said she wished they had a candle for puppy breath because it is the greatest thing ever! Seriously, they eat their poop! How about just leaving the bathroom door open after you take a dump, you would get the same effect. We keep spraying him with this dog cologne stuff hoping it will make a difference. Not really. I keep hoping after we get him neutered he will be the kind of dog I need. Calm, lazy and potty trained!! Well, enough venting. I am sure we will get thru it. Just another thing on my list of responsibilities. Why not. I have nothing better to do, right?

Willy Wonka
At the end of the show, the kids came out and performed a dance to the Black Eyed Peas that had everyone clapping and singing along. It was quite an ending. Here is their final pose.
My girls auditioned for the Spring Musical this year in school. They were doing Willy Wonka and the girls were so excited. Payton has the role as Mrs. Bucket, Charlie's mom and Sadie was one of the school mates of Charlie. They danced and sang for weeks preparing for the performance and it was really good. Caelyn loved it and wanted to watch it again! It was fun to see them up in front of everyone, singing and dancing. Good job girls!!
