Spotlight Show

The kids are in a magnet program after school and have been involved in performing arts. Payton is with a singing group and Sadie does tap. They had their big recital the other night and it was so cute. Payton had to sing a little solo and I was so nervous for her but she did great!!! She must take after her grandpa. Sadie's little group did a dance to Boogiewonderland from Happy Feet and I think they stole the show. They were so cute and smiled from ear to ear. Good job girls!!!

Payton's Violin Performance

For those of you who know I play the violin, little Payton has taken it on as well. They had their yearly concert at the civic center and she did really good. It was deja vu watching her play up there for me. Here is a photo of her in action.

Happy Mother's Day

I just wanted to say Happy Mother's Day to all the mother's in my life. I know this is late but I never have time to sit down at the computer!!! To my mom, there is no better mother in the world. I know that for a fact because when I watch other moms they just don't cut it compare to you. You are a great example to us girls and hopefully we can grow to be as loving, supportive and as beautiful as you!! To my sisters and sister in law, I love experiencing motherhood with you. It is fun to compare stories and vent frustrations to eachother. You are all such good moms and have the cutest kids ever!!! To my sweet Grandmothers, you are always in my thoughts and prayers. Some of the best times growing up were time spent with my grandmas. I love you both so much!!! I had a wonderful mother's day. Zeke was so cute. Teddy made them let me sleep in so every once in awhile I could hear my door open and the pitter patter of little feet as he came and threw something on the pillow next to me. Firs it was his gift. Then it was the card a few minutes later. Last he brought me fruit roll up from his lunch the day before. I couldn' t hold it in any longer and had to laugh and get up. The kids were so excited!! They had made little signs and had taped them up all over the house. We sat down and I opened each one of their gifts and they were so excited and just beaming. It was the cutest ever. Then we had a nice breakfast Teddy had made. It truely is one of my most favorite holidays!!!

Sadie's First Holy Communion

Well, this past Saturday was Sadie's first holy communion. It is basically their first opportunity to take the sacrament. they have to go to classes for two years to learn about repentance and the importance of the sacrament and what it stands for. It is like our Sunday school. She had to read part of the prayer during mass and was so excited. I asked her if she was going to be nervous and she said, "No mom, I have performed in front of way bigger audiences." She is so matter of fact. She looked pretty cute. The girls have to wear all white and a veil and the boys were black suits. She looked like a litte bride. I took her to buy her dress and of course she picked out the fanciest one she could see. It was a special day for her. Congrats Sadie!!

Happy Birthday Dad

Well, I saw that everyone else had put in a little piece for dad's birthday and I thought I would follow suit. I started to go through the wall unit to look for a picture of him and realized that he had made that beautiful piece of furniture. Then I looked up and could see my beautiful kitchen he put together for me. He has given us so much and has done so much for us I can't tell you how lucky we
are to have him for a dad. I started thinking back on some funny times that I have had with dad and my fondest memories. As awful of a time it was, I loved when he would come to the hospital and play battleship with me. I try to get the kids all excited to play it because it always was so much fun for me. I also remember when the lights would go out during a storm and he would get out his guitar and we would sing for hours. That was such a fun time. I remember the time we had the dust storm and Ronnie and dad came to get me from preschool with painter's masks on. I remember being so happy to see him because we were so scared. I remember driving to Delano everyday with him and Danny one summer so I could help tape windows and Dr. Chee's home while they finished that house. I could go on for hours. I guess the point is I have had a wonderful childhood and so many happy memories. I have always been so proud to call you my dad. I love you!!!!!!!
