Barack Obama's Flag

So, for quotes of the day. When you walk out our front door, my neighbor directly in front of us has a huge flag pole with the American flag that you can see behind their house. Caelyn walked out in front of me to the car and turned and said "Look Mommy, Barack Obama's Flag!" Maybe I am watching a little too much Fox News? I am sure that makes you so proud, Dad :)

The Day Spa Disaster

Okay so here goes the story. For Valentine's day Teddy told me he wanted nothing more for me than to have my toes done and jokingly said do a little landscaping if you will. Not to say that I look like the following picture. (Even though Spencer liked to call me wolfgirl).

No, just a little waxing. I joked it off saying NO WAY!! That is not me. SOOOO, after thinking about it for a few days I thought what the heck! People do this stuff all the time right? A little pedicure, waxing of the eyebrows and maybe the bikini line, I could do that. So, I made an appt. at this poshy place to have it done and my hair as well. So the morning of I was so nervous and felt soooo stupid. I went for my pedicure first and when I got there they had forgotten to write me in the book and both girls were booked all day. GREAT!! I felt even more stupid. Soo, they checked to make sure I was down for my other appt. which I was and I said I would be back in an hour. I went to run a few errands and with knots in my stomach I returned. Yes, imagine me checking in with the receptionist. "I am here for my bikini wax." What a dork!!!! She tells me to have a seat and I sit there for twenty minutes. By this time the owner is on the phone and apologizing for the delay. Well, to make a long story short the girl wasn't coming in because she had her appendix out three days prior and was still not feeling well. They had forgotten to call me. Now I really felt like a dork. It is just not in the cards for me to by foofoo fancy. It was a sign!!! So, with my disappointment hidden I headed home until my hair appt. at 1pm. I thought, should I try one of those Korean places? But I can't stand having to talk to them. It is bad enough I have to decipher their accent at work, let along with my pants down. So, I went back for the hair and it turned out great and I love it. In the end, the salon called and had me come in early saturday morning for my waxing so I thought what the heck, I will go. It was quite an experience. Those ladies that do the full shabang are crazy!!! It hurts and to be honest, I think the razor does a better job. But, they were kind enough to do it for free so some good came out of it. And yes I am all ready for bikini season. Too bad it is raining!!!

Soccer

The girls have continued soccer on a spring select team. It has been really fun since these girls are hand picked, the competition is much greater. They are playing teams from all over the city. So far we are 3-1. The one game they lost you would have thought it was the end of the world. All the girls were crying because they had been beating all the teams with score of 9-1, 6-2 etc.. They didn't know how to react. It was a good lesson for them and gave them all the more determination to play harder. Payton has been playing forward and has score 15 goals already this season. Sadie is our little middle fullback. She got blindsided in the last game. After recovering on the sideline she went in and got her "revenge" by taking out three different girls. She definitely takes after her dad's side of the family. We tease her that her inner "Ghetto Girl" comes out when she is mad. Here are just a couple of pictures. I have to remember to take pictures during the game. I get so caught up in yelling and coaching!!

Home Improvement

Sorry, I haven't blogged in awhile. I have been working everyother day for two weeks and it is kicking my bottom. I am yet to catch up on sleep but it was for a good cause. I needed to earn a little extra cash for my little projects! Well, for any of you who have kids, you know that they are destroyers of carpet. After five years here our family room was looking pretty ragged. So for Xmas Teddy and I decided to get wood floors for the family room. My dad was so kind to come and help up put it in one Saturday. I think it turned out pretty good. I did all the base boards myself!! I was quite proud of my 22.5 degree angles on the curved corners. So once the floor was done I realized I was tired of my downstairs bathroom. After a quick white sale at Kohls I stocked up on some cute towels and a cute shower curtain and a new bath room was born. I painted away the old blue and yellow and the brown and grey/blue was in. I think it looks pretty good!! Now I have the bug to redo the next room. I guess you are never done decorating your house!!
