Rockne Lou Armijo

Just an update on our little puppy. He pulled thru his sickness and is doing great! In fact too good. He is a bundle of energy and loves to cuddle. We are working on the nipping thing. He loves your pant leg and socks. Hopefully we can get him potty trained soon!!!!!! Then I won't stress so much. He is doing pretty good but I have to watch him like a hawk! We found this little stuffed dog that looks like Rockne and brought it home for him to cuddle with it. He cuddles all right. It was like Mutual of Omaha's natural kingdom. He is getting a bit better though. Luckily the kids haven't caught on to what he was doing. I can't wait to get him neutered!!

Skiing Photos

I finally found Payton's camera and was able to download the photos we took skiing. Here are a few shots of the kids and them playing in the snow. It was so much fun!! I can't wait to go again soon!

Eagles Tourney

This weekend the girls went on their first out of town soccer tourney in Ventura. They were a little nervous to see how they would match up against southern California teams but they did great. They had three wins and a tie and took first in their age group!! Here are a few pictures of them goofing around. It is funny because many of them look alike because they are almost all dark. There is one red head and the rest are brown/black. Teddy said the coaches on the other teams kept commenting on how they had never seen a team with so much speed. Those little mexican girls can run!! Congrats girls!! Wish I could have been there!!

What were we thinking???

Well, some of you know the drama we had and continue to have with the dog issue. Sadie was adamant this year that she wanted a dog and Teddy and I were so leary. We felt though that she was responsible enough and had really earned an opportunity to have one so we compromised and decided to get one after our ski trip. Then the dilemma what to get?? Or course Teddy didn't want a girlie dog and I did. Teddy finally agreed that a maltipoo would be the dog. I searched far and wide and would call and they were always sold out. Finally Tuesday, on the computer, I found a breeder in Bakersfield and called her. She had a little 10 week old boy left. I met her in the parking lot at Walmart of all places, and we became new parents of a baby boy. The first night he smelled so bad so we gave him a bath and got him all set up in the kitchen. He was really good though. Teddy and I have been sleeping on the couch so we could hear him to take him out to go to the bathroom. He has done really well in his crate. During the day we just let him run around in his pen. Well, Thursday I was in LA for work and came home and he would just lay there and was very listless. I was so worried because he wouldn't eat either. The next morning was his vet appt so we decided to wait it out. The next day at the vet I told him my concerns and he thought maybe he was missing his family and didn't like the dog food we had. So, we bought some different stuff and decided to see what happened. The next morning he was throwing up and I called the vet and he said to bring him in. Mind you I was supposed to be in Ventura with Teddy and the girls for a soccer tourney but now I am stuck home with a sick puppy. The vet said he has Parvo and has a 50/50 chance of survival. They gave him IV fluids and some medication I have to give him and we just have to wait it out and see what happens. So far, he has stopped vomiting but has diarrhea that is just water. It is so sad because he just lays there and will come out and walk around sometimes but mostly just wants to lay in his crate. I have been feeding him pedialyte every two hours to keep him hydrated. All the literature says if they make it thru day four they usually will get better and today is day four. Never fails, the Taylor curse with animals continues. I just hope he gets better because if he doesn't, our dog attempt is over and done with!!! Here are a few pics of him. His name is Rockne, yes after Knute Rockne from Notre Dame (Teddy always gets his way). He looks so sad in all the pictures so hopefully soon I can get some good ones with him looking happy. Pray for us!!!

New Years

Caelyn and Ava during the countdown (at 8 O'clock)
This year for New Year's Eve we rented a cabin in Huntington and went skiing at Sierra Summit. It was so much fun. The kids were so excited to actually see it snow. They never had seen it coming down. We went skiing three days and they all were doing blue runs by the end are really getting it. Caelyn just hung out at the bottom and we would take turns watching her. The kids spent a lot of time having snow ball fights and digging in the snow. For New Year's Eve we were with our friends, Jared and Darla and invited our neighbors from Bakersfield to our cabin since they were up skiing too. We had apple cider and a set off the little streamer bombs. The kids didn't even mind that we did the countdown at 8pm since we were all so tired. Happy New Year everyone!!

Here are a few shots of the kids on Christmas Eve. We went to mass with every other holiday Catholic and sat outside in the cold. Not fun!! The kids looked cute though. Of course we had the matching pajamas, courtesy of Children's Place, for Xmas morning. Payton is at the age she is always hiding from pictures so I don't have much of her. Sadie got a dog crate from Santa and is waiting to get a dog after we have our ski trip. Zeke got a basketball hoop from Santa and Caelyn got a a ball. She was sooo excited. It was a great day. We had a nice breakfast and got to visit with family. Merry Christmas everyone!!

Sorry I haven't been on in awhile. We have been busy with the holiday season. Here are a few pictures of Payton and Sadie at their Winter Concert. Sadie is beginning Violin and really likes it. Payton begrudgingly plays the flute. Sadie also sings in the choir. Payton thinks she is too cool. Caelyn also had a singing program at her preschool. It was pretty funny because by the time they got all the kids ready, they sang two songs and were done. The schools of course had some parties that we dropped in on. It was a fun time!!
