Swim Season

The kids have been doing their annual swimming for the city swim team. They complain about having to get up early everyday but once they are there they love seeing their cousins. Here are a few pictures I was able to get off my video camera. Thank goodness for that or I would never get a decent action shot!!

San Luis Obispo Triathlon 2011

Well, in order to keep motivated I have tried to train for something. Last year it was the Red Rock Relay but the timing of that is just too crazy with soccer and football so I decided this year to do a sprint triathlon. I did it when I went to Cal poly in 1996 and again in 2004. My time last time was 2hours 7min and 5 sec. So my goal was to beat that. I ended up coming in at 1 hour 55 min and 57 seconds. I was so glad. While I was doing it I kept thinking, WHY??? But afterwards it was well worth it. The kids were waiting for me when I came around the corner and ran in with me. It was so cute. The announcer announced my name and "family" as we ran across the finish line. Even Caelyn had to keep up. Payton was too cool to make the trek, ha!! Teddy was pretty motivated to try it for next year. After watching some of the swimmers he figured he could do it. We'll see!!!
