Okay, so for those of you who know, Jaime and I have this sickness when it comes to "Cars". Ever since the movie came out and they made the little diecast people we have been obsessed with finding all the new characters. Even to the point of going to Walmart or Target everyday. We experience such a thrill every time a new car character is found. Today while I was at Target I found three new ones. What a day!! What is even sicker is I came home and went to put them with the others and realized I have no more room for them!! I set them up on the floor just to document how many have been obtained. If this keeps up I am going to have to buy more shelves for Zeke's room. It is pretty fun though to see when he gets home each day how he runs up and checks them out to see if there are any new ones and he always notices. I guess this is how I justify the sickness. Anyway, since the obsession has begun I have noticied that there are more of us out there. I have caught many adults fumbling through the cars looking for hot items. There is also a huge following of Hot Wheel enthusiasts. I see a certain couple all the time at Target at 8am who go and thumb through the Hot Wheel cars. Aren't we funny people!!! So next time you are out and notice the "Cars" think of us. :)

daily quotes
Okay, so I have to share this story with you because it is so typical Sadie. I have been on a Nicholas Sparks reading kick lately. For those who don't know his books, he wrote "The Notebook, Message in Bottle" etc... Yes, tear, jerker love stories. Anyway, the kids always ask me to tell them the story about what I am reading so on the way to school this morning Payton asked me to tell them the story I am reading right now, "The Wedding". So I tell them story up to where I am in the book and Zekey says, "That story is weird." Sadie comes back with the disgusted reply, "Oh, Zekey you just don't know anything about true love." It cracked me up because the way she said it was as if she had years of experience in the matter. That girl is a character!!!

City Swim Meet

Sadie swimming Freestyle

Zekey getting ready to go

Yes, Hayden wore the Jammer. We have proof!!

Logan getting ready to lead the Mako Shark cheer

We won the meet!!!

Our little Mako Shark mascot
We had the big city swim meet on July 26 and it was so much fun. We were there all morning long. We had a big pop up and everyone just huddled underneath it to stay out of the heat. All the kids did awesome. They posted their best times in the program and all of them beat them. Zekey got three first place ribbons (he was the only Under 6 swimmer in Bakersfield :) He was sooooo excited. Sadie did really well too. She had three first place ribbons as well. All of the other kids did great in their events too. I can't remember what everyone got but they all were fast little swimmers. The kids were really excited because Silver Creek Park has won for the past 10 years. I guess our little Mcmurtrey 1 team had never won a meet and this year we went undefeated and won the city meet!!! We will be back for more next year!!!
