Sadie's Track Meet

Sadie had her city track meet at Bakersfield College on Thursday. She ran the 800m. She did a great job following directions regarding pacing herself. Here is the video of her running. She got second overall between two heats!! Good job Sadie!!

Zeke's Football Birthday Party

Zeke wanted a football party for his birthday. We decided to have a football game at the park and tail gate. Grandpa Ted brought flags from school and Aunt Jaime made the iron on name and numbers so the kids could have the cool uniforms. We sprayed their hair with colors and painted their faces. The kids each made a sign for their team to run thru. Teddy and Ish, one of the dads, played all time quarterback and did a great job having all the kids get a chance to run the ball or catch it. The teams ended up in a tie and had a great time. We had great food and cake and ice cream. They even had a football pinata which everyone got a hit on. It was a great time and Zeke was so happy!! Thanks everyone that came. It was one of my favorite parties yet!!

La Purisima Mission trip

Sadie is in fourth grade and that means, Mission reports! The usual routine is to make a model mission but this year I talked Sadie into doing a movie. We took a day off from school and headed over to Lompoc to visit this cool mission that is fully restored. It wasn't the prettiest but it had animals, indian huts, a garden. As we were getting ready to leave, one of the docents asked us if we would like to see some of the rooms. We said sure and he took us and opened up the soldiers quarters, the jail and the weaving area. We got to walk in them and touch the stuff. He gave Sadie a real lead bullet and some sheeps wool. She was so excited. I think she learned much more than she thought. It was a lot of fun and a cool place to visit. Once a month they have actors dress up like soldiers and indians from the mission days and do the daily activities. I want to go back and visit!

Spring Concert

Once again it is time for the Spring Concert. Payton is hanging in there, playing the flute. She doesn't ever practice but she is still going to practice. Sadie on the other hand is very obedient when her teacher tells her to practice. She is playing the violin and it is fun to get out mine and play with her. She did choir this year as well and is enjoying it. They did really well. Good job girls.

Easter Sunday

Here is the family after church in our Easter garb. I found these outfits online at Crazy 8 store. It is a branch of Gymboree but cheaper. They all looked so cute. They had a great Easter and got lots of stuff in their Easter baskets. Zeke was even writing notes to the Easter bunny making requests. Sadie was so mad at him, she kept telling him "It's not like christmas!" They are so funny. We had another Easter egg hunt at their Grandpa Ted's sister's house. It was a lot of fun. We put money in a lot of the eggs so they were very interested in finding them!

Spring Break Day 5

This was our last day in Utah. We took the kids to the indoor pool and let them swim a bit. It was fun. We then met the Reber clan for a potluck and Easter egg hunt. The kids got lots of candy. I think we had over 200 eggs to hide. The park was really nice but not many trees so there were lots of eggs in the grass. Carlie thought she would be funny and told the kids there was a $100 bill in a blue egg. It was funny at the end because the bulk of the older kids only had blue eggs in their baskets. They were a bit disappointed to only find candy!!

Spring Break Day 4

Wednesday of Spring Break we went hiking in Red Rock Canyon. It was so beautiful. The kids had a great time climbing the rocks. We had a little picnic on the rocks and played in the little caves. Later that night we had some yummy food and then went ice skating. There is a rink under a huge white tent down in the middle of downtown St. George. It was so fun!! Nick took Luke and Logan around. Even Caelyn tried. They had 5 gallon buckets the kids would push around to keep their balance. I spent most of the time holding caelyn. She was so sad to go. I promised her we would go again soon in Bakesfield. I think this was one of her favorite parts of the trip. Teddy was taking pictures and many were too blurry. There are a few good ones though.
