Man's Best Friend, Seriously???

Well, just had to blog about this experience of having a dog. Now I know why it is called man's best friend because it isn't woman's best friend. Guess who gets to clean up the pee that loves to trickle down the grout of my tile, guess who gets to wash the dingle berries left in his fur after EVERY poop he takes, guess who get attacked by the niping frenzy whenever I try to make a meal in the kitchen, guess who gets to clean the carpet when one of the kids thinks it is fun to let him out to run around the house. Yep, that's right, ME!!!! I lost it the other morning after coming down first thing and taking him out to go to the bathroom. As I walked around in the freaking cold yelling, "GO PEE!" over and over he nipped at me and played with the pine cones. After about 20 min, and a constant nagging by the kids for me to get their breakfast, do their hair, etc.... I said fine, screw it. Apparently he didn't need to go. Perhaps what little puddle on the pad was all he had. Oh, No. I put him back in the kitchen and went to do Sadie's hair and upon return I found not only a nice big puddle of urine in front of my fridge but a large poop to boot!! UGH!!!! Seriously? just another thing for the WOMAN to do. If it weren't for his sad little eyes when I yell at him I think I would have drop kicked him across the yard. Mind you, I know all you dog lovers out there are probably appalled but I am not a pet person and this is a huge undertaking. All mom's know that your day is spent doing chores, grocery shopping, cleaning, running errands, going to kids activities and then work on top of that and now I have to clean up poop!!! Oh, and then, the smell!! I saw on the animal planet where one lady said she wished they had a candle for puppy breath because it is the greatest thing ever! Seriously, they eat their poop! How about just leaving the bathroom door open after you take a dump, you would get the same effect. We keep spraying him with this dog cologne stuff hoping it will make a difference. Not really. I keep hoping after we get him neutered he will be the kind of dog I need. Calm, lazy and potty trained!! Well, enough venting. I am sure we will get thru it. Just another thing on my list of responsibilities. Why not. I have nothing better to do, right?

I love it!!!! I can feel your pain. I am outside every morning at 6:45 while everyone else is still nice and warm in their beds. Belle only does one of the two deeds at a time so you can stand there for 10 minutes and she will just poop and then come sit by your legs waiting to go in. Then the minute you get inside she pees. Why are they this way? Good luck. Let me know how he does after you have him fixed. I get nervous to get Belle fixed because she has such a hard time with her shots. Who knows what would happen if they put her under.

That was so funny and SOOO true. We have 1 dog 2 cats and a bunny. And you think dog pee and poop smells bad? The bunny lives (ina cage) in the play room and the smell can be unbearable. He just poops where ever he feels like in his cage. In his bed,in his food bowl. And getting our pets fixed never helped much. The cats share a litter box-and it gets really rank too. And I don't even like animals...All these animals are courtesy of Tessa. She is my animal lover and vet tech.
